Smart Education successfully conducted TOEIC® tests in 7 cities in China, including Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hefei, Kunming, Shenzhen, Wuhan and Changsha on 25th May 2014, helping examinees achieve international English certification to enhance their competitiveness and capacity in future studies and careers in the global context. It is a necessity for students and job seekers to get the TOEIC® test scores as it has already been used as a standard in selection process in many universities, community colleges, enterprises and government departments worldwide. Effective April, 2014, Smart Education has been appointed by Educational Testing Service (ETS) as the official representative of the TOEIC® tests in South and Central China. Smart Education now works with colleges, universities, language schools and educational institutions to provide students in China with valid, fair and reliable English assessments. The TOEIC® tests are recognized internationally as an efficient and reliable basis for measuring applicants’ English proficiency. 1. Using TOEIC® test score for personnel selection in China
Many large domestic enterprises, such as Lenovo has used TOEIC® test score as a screening and promotional basis. It is also used in public and financial sectors such as Ministry of Commerce and Bank of China. For some international companies, such as Procter & Gamble Co., Ltd. and Ericsson, it is used in recruitment and personnel arrangement to facilitate English learning and enhance employee’s English proficiency.
Besides, enterprises in South Korea and Hong Kong also choose TOEIC® test score to assess their employees. As one of the job requirements, the TOEIC® Speaking test score has been used in Samsung Group as a selection standard for job applicants. Moreover, such Korean government departments as finance, business, justice and transportation also require applicants submit their TOEIC® Speaking and Writing test scores.
