In this issue, we report several key milestones achieved in Hong Kong and Macao, including but not limited to the approvals of TOEIC, TOEIC BridgeTM and TFI by the Macao Education & Youth Affairs (DSEJ) and the appointment of Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) as the TOEIC® Speaking and Writing (TOEIC S&W) test center. These milestones certainly strengthen TOEIC's position in Hong Kong and Macao as the most effective English language assessment.

Since July 2011, Smart Education has become the Educational Testing Service's (ETS) official representative of TOEIC® tests in Hong Kong and Macau. TOEIC® is the Test of English for International Communication, and the global standard for workplace English-language assessment. TOEIC® is being used by over 10,000 organizations in 120 countries as their recruitment, training and promoting requirement. Furthermore, in April 2011, the U.K. Border Agency announced that persons from around the world wishing to work, study, or settle in the United Kingdom may use the TOEIC® tests to demonstrate their English proficiency for all visas under the United Kingdom's points-based system. More than 6 million TOEIC® tests were administered in 2010, making the TOEIC® tests the most popular English language assessment worldwide.
